A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of shooting a video portrait with longtime friend of THE SHALTZES, Tanya Fischer. Fischer, whom we cast to play “Allison” in our 2008 stage production of U.S. DRAG, had some down time between wrapping CBS’ The Defendersand packing for her next project in Canada [we can’t share what it is, but trust us it’s sweet].
Collaborating with Tanya [whom is 1/3 of THE BAMBI KILLERS] is always inspiring because you know you will get upbeat energy and raw sincerity 100% of the time.
Enjoy!

THE SHALTZES teamed up with AWCward Marketing Partners to develop a case study video for their ‘House of Walker’ networking event back in December.
AWCward founders Clyde Lee, Aulston Taylor and Wesmore Perriott hosted the Scotch tasting and mixer with the intentions of creating a classy, hip and fun way to mingle with “movers and shakers” from industries ranging from fashion to marketing to finance.
“Our whole key insight around doing these type of events is that you can mix business and pleasure all together at once and still have somebody walk away with a smile on their face,” explains Lee. ”It doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.”
Stay tuned for the announcement of AWCward’s next partnership event!
Yes, this is old news: one year ago today THE SHALTZES were blessed with being featured in a nationwide Blackberry commercial. Whether America liked it or not, for 6 months Carrie & Jason invaded peoples homes as they tried to watch TV in peace.
Big shout out to LUCID INC for creating the spot and ALMOST making the siblings look cool. I am still a little bitter they couldn’t fit my beautiful mug in there
benchmarc-events: Meet the Shaltzes! Jason & Carrie Shaltz, brother and sister photography team extraordinaire, are our go-to photographers for event shots, food photos and everything in between. We’ve been working with them for years, and they’re responsible for capturing some great photos for us, including the ones posted below.
This brother and sister double act are a ‘shoot what’s hip’ videographer and photographer team with their hearts set on reinventing the reel. The Shaltzes’ artistic genius lies somewhere between the graphic acrobatics and cosmetic perfectionism they pull out of the editing room and their talent to conjure raw energy from anything they point a camera at. Imbued with wit and beauty and laced with danger, their rock ‘n roll mojo and huge horizons have drawn them to shoot cultural contrasts that range from the Juggalos to high-fashion commercials; from food photography to weddings.
Fun Facts:Jason used to work with Benchmarc Events before he became famous and the Shaltzes were featured in a Blackberry commercial, so they hold a spot near and dear to our hearts. And, they are terrific photographers, too!
THE SHALTZES have taken to tumblr. They might have something to say every week, they might not. They might let one of their colleagues take over a post. I don’t know. Does it matter? If you have any sort of social media platform and you care even just 1% about what they have to say…you should tune in. 2012 is going to be a ride…
